Our team explores the mechanisms underlying pulmonary hypertension (PH) and pulmonary endothelial (EC) dysfunction, two key contributors to vascular remodeling and disease progression. We combine fundamental research and clinical approaches to identify novel therapeutic targets and improve patient outcomes. Our research focuses on:
(1) Functional changes in pulmonary ECs (pro-proliferative, apoptosis-resistant, pro-inflammatory phenotypes).
(2) Key molecular pathways regulating endothelial–environment interactions (BMP-9/10-BMPR-II/Smad1,5,8 and TGF-β/activins/Smad2,3)
(3) Crosstalk between endothelium, vascular smooth muscle, pericytes, and immune cells.
Our multidisciplinary team brings together clinicians, researchers, engineers, and PhD students working collaboratively to advance translational research and pave the way for innovative therapies against pulmonary hypertension.
